President Obama needs a movement that is unequivocally idealistic and provides him with a clear message: Your Administration will continue to lose support unless it builds The Caring Society-a society that judges its institutions, social practices, legislation, corporations, government policies, our educational system, our health care system, and our personal lives on this simple criterion: how much do they tend to enhance our individual and communal capacities for love, caring, kindness, generosity, ethical and ecological sensitivity and our capacity to respond to the grandeur of the universe with awe and radical amazement.
